Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery Through Folktale Storises at SMP Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu

The development of vocabulary mastery is an important goal teaching English. One the approaches that are effective in fostering using folktale stories. objective this research to prove use stories can improve first year students SMP Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu. sample was taken through random sampling technique. data were collected by two kinds instrument: observation and test. analyzed descriptively, whereas test statically analysis. After conducting test, writers found have good motivation learning result analysis showed there significance difference between pre-test post-test. It revealed hypothesis stated student Palu be improved applying This accepted after testing it, which t-counted value 4.18. By 0, 05 level 72 degree freedom with critical t-table interpolation computation 1.996. greater than values. means alternative (Ha) Null (Ho) rejected. concludes
